Our Philosophy

The REES Initiative was established to address the needs of disadvantaged communities through a simple structured approach that is inter-connected, thereby not delivering a project silo construct, instead a systems whole approach to personal growth.

The methodology is captured in the organisations name, using a four tier principled approach to supporting communities.

Our services and projects are designed and delivered to be aggressive and innovative, tailored to meet the needs of individuals and groups to implement progressive change.

We appreciate working with disadvantaged communities is complex and many have been in a state of flux or even regressive for long periods.  However, at the heart of our philosophy is belief in the realisation of potential in these communities that does exist but has not been touched.  Therefore our services and projects are designed and delivered with not only a qualitative approach but also one of a quantitative approach towards mapping clear aims, objectives, outcomes, outputs and results.

Tangible objectives are enshrouded in our services and projects to achieve our core purpose to empower and sustain change.  Thus allowing beneficiaries and their families to build the future they envision for themselves, one step at a time.

We REACH out to our communities, by placing them at the heart of everything we do, by working with them and not at them; we are always looking at ways on how we can improve our empathy with engagement.

We ENGAGE with our communities with a proactive attitude in looking for opportunities in how we can help and support them to make a difference, in particular by actively listening, involving and empowering.

We EMPOWER our communities through the direct involvement in the planning, consultation, design, delivery, management, review and evaluation of any project or service thereby addressing continued sustainability.

We SUSTAIN our communities by developing personal and community capacity, in particular individual and collective responsibility towards action and change, where we proactively take on the role of a facilitator or coach in realising potential and creating leadership opportunities to continue to reach.
